It seems the U.S. Military pulled their “consultancy” support for Hollywood’s blockbuster film, The Avengers, because they had a problem with it being in their opinion “unrealistic.” Apparently the immortal guy with the magic hammer was no problem, nor did the fellow made out of rocks stretch credulity, but the “S.H.I.E.L.D.” group has no system in place for taking advantage of proper military channels or necessary respect for the chain of command. … Yeah, well, we’re not sure if Adam & Eve ever tried to enlist the assistance of actual Texas oil billionaires in the production of Dallas XXX, but D.Minion did not seem to focus on that aspect, at least during Day One of the production. At this point we’ve pretty much given up on Business as Usual around here, as everyone has pretty much fallen into the Full Panic mode about the upcoming convention. When we decided to put that Countdown for Gibby on top of New Stuff, we didn’t really anticipate that this would result in common wails of AAAARGH! in the office – every time somebody here opens up the site to check something. Presuming we haven’t been overrun by a collection of pirates, one might assume that the old “Ignorance is Bliss” theory definitely seems to hold water in this establishment. All good things come to an end, at least that’s what people who are trying to rationalize their condition after realizing that they won’t be able to enjoy something that has been really fun try to think. For us, having the Olympics on pretty much all the time in the office has been a splendid way to add a little mix to the mesh. We will miss it for the next couple of years, but we have learned about a whole lot of countries we’d never even heard of, so that’s a bonus. Also for us, assisting Maverick with his redesign has come to an end as well — which goes to show that even not necessarily all that good things come to an end too. Whew. Now we’re able to go back to the more fun adventures, this time involving our much more traditional entertainment in Kristal Summers and Dee. Everyone should have closets full of things like we do. It seems like our invitation to the big premiere party for “The Four” must have gotten lost in the mail. Dang. Consequently we decided rather to spend our entertainment dollars on Rodney Carrington, who happened to be in town. We can’t help it. International sports has been a common topic of conversation around the office this week, and so we got to wondering. Don’t you think they could draw in a lot more consistent interest in gymnastics if they just took that little 4” beam and raised it up about 30 feet into the air? You could at least pull in the NASCAR and Ultimate Fighting Fans, and they drink beer. Somebody should tell Budweiser. …Well, it was just a thought. Oh, good grief! We turned on the Olympics each of the past two weekend mornings, and can you guess what NBC was showing? Yep. Rowing. … Worse yet, on Saturday, the UK team beat the US team, although we can’t say we were paying enough attention to determine if this happened to be some qualifying heat or some other kind. Still, what are the odds? Well, in addition to dodging phone calls from Maverick we also decided to show off something that not even one Olympic competitor can claim. Dee. We had to post today, because all those eights are really good luck, and we can generally use all the luck we can find. If you knew about eights being good luck, and you’re not Chinese, then odds are good you’ve been watching all the hype for the opening of the Olympic Games in Beijing tonight. In the spirit of friendly competition we thought we’d feature a couple of a different kind of athlete today, albeit in slightly less clothing. OK, actually Faith Leon and Puma Swede basically have no clothing at all, which really makes it hard to get those endorsement deals, you know. Maybe if Nike starts making high heels or something. … So in the spirit of friendly taunting (that often accompanies that friendly competition), we called Maverick to ask if the Brits even watch the Olympics or if it’s just too depressing. Mav said they often do well in “rowing” …. Uh-Huh. We often pop down to the sports bar and slug down some beers while we watch “rowing” on TV. That sure gets exciting. In honor of her intrepid return to her Message Board, we’ve decided to show off the earliest pictures we have of the young beauty, Georgia. Most of you probably know she’s featured in a couple of scenes in Basically Becca, and you can see, even as early as a couple of years ago, just what a special affinity she has for the camera. We’re pretty sure that’s what Juli and Becca were discussing in the few shots we snuck in and shot of them too. This “interaction” was actually not for any video release, but seemed to involve other types of release, come to think of it. Wow! We found some really old pictures of Juli, and Taren Steele, and Serenity. These were from the very first scene shot for the very first Essentially Juli. We’d go on and on about how great they are, and what fond memories they brought back, but we’re just to choked up with emotion. In an atypical caving of conscious, we’ve been won over by office lobbying efforts to post some of the more “timely” stories as they’re, well, timely. D.Minion been after us to sort of bop back and forth between past and present for some time, but Dee finally won us over. For those of you that have seen the office cam shows, you’ll know just how persuasive Dee can be. Wendy’s got a new “do” and D.Minion was on set with her (and, coincidentally, Dee) just last month. Now you can read about Naked Hollywood, Wendy-style, and see her new hair too. Next task is to get Wendy over to the office to show us more of her do’s and don’ts, as they are. Well, we have inane country music references. We have rare sitings of both D.Minion and some Lucky fellow. We have Kristal as a blonde, Dee as a sex object, and Devinn as her typical Diva. What’s most important, though, seems to be what we don’t have: We don’t have even one f**king picture of a koala. Good to see things are back to their usual abnormal state around here. As a kind of change of pace, and because a lot of us are in Jamaica, the skeleton crew (as we affectionately call them) has the task of posting the Epic that was the Australia trip. D.Minion calls it “Going Down (under) with Devinn Lane and Sydnee Steele.” We call it bizarre to say the least. Juli drops (by) and gives us 50! There’s been such a surge in Buried Treasure sales lately that we thought we’d put up some more stills from the scenes, as kind of a bonus for those that have seen the video. Even if you haven’t seen the video, these are some interesting tales.
