Deconstructing Dee … ? Why would we do that?

Lucky likes to say that I remember the bad things that happen to me. [All of them. Each and every one individually, without exception. … Forever.] I’m not sure that I LIKE to, but I do. I also remember the good things that happen. And this day was both good and bad. [Presumably D.Minion means the day of the photo shoot, and not the day that she put this particular post together, although I didn’t technically ask her because she might have considered this a “bad thing” that happened to her, and then we’d be adding to that already amazingly deep list of things in her life.]

Georgia and her hubby had set up a shoot in a beautiful mansion in Malibu. I believe Dee drove out with Georgia and Mr. Adair. Lucky and I brought Kristal Summers. [That makes sense, right? We can’t have all the porn stars in the same car. That’s just wrong.]

The Matriarch

We’ve all heard that some people just seem to be “born leaders” in life. While I’d argue that the vast majority of us serve a leadership role in at least a few aspects in our own existence, it would tempt the ludicrous to maintain that we each have similar abilities in this area. Some people we’re fortunate enough to run across in our own little circles of being can absolutely dominate a room, just by walking into it.

Meet Shayla LaVeaux.

I won’t belabor obvious points about sex appeal, appearance, and charm here, because obviously if you happen to be reading this, you’ve already acquainted yourself with Shayla’s allure. We do find ourselves sitting inside her Members’ Area, after all. Most of you probably don’t realize, though, that during the decade plus that a Risqué Business sat atop the adult industry talent management pool, Shayla served as the unofficial Leader and Queen of the enterprise. She didn’t have any fancy title that went along with the duties, and honestly we never really talked about it much, but every one of us knew that we’d be much better off if we ran any major decisions through Shayla. In historic terms, for those of you not too young to appreciate history yet, we all had Shayla as our Matriarch.

It was a wonderful time.

Heather Vuur

Oh, Vuur the Top Again

This is the third time that I’ve been fortunate enough to watch a photo shoot for a new Ninn Worx Contract Girl. Previously it was Georgia Adair, and then Anais. This time it was Heather Vuur. Luckily, spending the day with beautiful women never gets old! [ … although many of us seem to be getting that way. What’s up with that?]

I’d spent the night in the Valley with my buddy Dee and her guy Brandon, and since Brandon was doing Behind The Scenes video, we rode to photographer Laurent Sky’s studio together. [“… imagine me and you and you and me … so happy togetheeeeeeeeer …” (You should take your fun where you can find it.) We often have to find it for ourselves, because some people won’t talk to us when we make comments like that. These are confusing people.]

Laurent is arguably the best photographer in the business [Well, there’s not much argument really, at least when it comes to studio photography.], and it felt like home to be back in his studio again. Heather arrived and I introduced her to makeup artist Red Velvet. They bonded immediately and Red began turning Heather into “The Girl Next Door.” [Although having lived in many, many places we’re not that sure “next door” to what it seems. I’d have peeked over the fence a lot more often had Heather been on the other side. …]

Seek and Ye Shall … Be Confused (quite possibly)

If you’ve been around the risqué members’ side for any length of time, you’ve probably heard us talking about working on a “real” Search Engine for the pay area here. If you’ve ever been a member of any other adult site, then it probably took you basically no time at all to figure out that we’re a bit odd in our approach. To really be successful, and therefore useful, a Members’ Search Function (If you use capitalized words, then it makes it seem really important, right?) must be able to accurately and quickly scan the words – emphasis on the word quickly (as you’ve seen twice now).

I promised not to wander too far into the technical, so let me just pose a question for you to consider before you completely ignore it and jump to the beautiful naked women at the bottom of the page. You all know how much we write around here. How many words do you think the database needs to keep track of over 17,586 pages (so far, including this one)? Suffice it to say that this was not a simple process, and as with many things we’ve tried over the years, we basically had to wait until the server technology caught up with what we were trying to do.

Being ahead of the curve isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, sometimes.
